Lyceum vs Teachable
Built for the school your first course turns into.
Teachable is where a lot of people sold their first course, and for one course with a checkout page it is still a fair pick. Every plan sells coaching and downloads beside the course, order bumps and upsells are built in, the app is already on your students' phones, and affiliates come with Builder. The transaction fee is 0% from Builder up, with card processing on top.
Lyceum is built for what happens after the first course works. Products are never counted; Teachable stops you at 5, 10, or 50. A community is on every plan, and Teachable adds one at Growth. Every lesson gets a tutor. The back office is real: a member CRM, attendance, live classes from Pro, invoices, and a task board. Members pay through your own Stripe, and Academy takes 0%. Teachable still has an affiliate program and a native app; ours are on the way.

Still on the way
What is still on the way at Lyceum
Teachable has an affiliate program from Builder and a native app on every plan today. Neither platform lists a visual automations builder.
- A visual when-then automations builder
- An affiliate program
- A branded native mobile app
Today a school works in any phone browser with nothing to install, and we do not publish ads to Meta or Google. We will not list any of this as included until it is real.
Switching from Teachable
Asked before people move.
Can I move my Teachable school to Lyceum?
Yes. Download your videos and files from Teachable, paste your outline into the Architect, and it rebuilds the modules and lessons for you to edit while the uploads run. Your student list exports from Teachable as a CSV and imports here. If you would rather a person did it with you, write to support@joinlyceum.com.
How do the fees compare?
Teachable Starter takes 7.5% of every sale on top of card processing; Builder and Growth take 0% and cost $89 and $189 a month. Lyceum Starter is $49 plus 5%, Pro is $99 plus 2%, and Academy is $249 with 0%. The other difference is where the money sits. Teachable pays you out through teachable:pay. Lyceum members pay your own Stripe account, so the balance is yours from the first sale.
Does Lyceum limit how many courses or products I can sell?
No. Courses, packages, spaces, and members are never counted on any plan. Storage and email volume scale by tier: 25 GB and 10,000 emails a month on Starter, 250 GB and 100,000 on Pro, 1 TB and 500,000 on Academy.
The same school, under your own name.
