Privacy Policy
Last updated June 13, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Lyceum (“we,” “us”) handles information when you use the Lyceum platform (the “Service”). For schools built on Lyceum, the School Owner is the controller of their members' data; we process it on their behalf as described below.
1. Information we collect
- Account information you provide, such as name, email, and school details.
- Content you upload, such as courses, lessons, transcripts, posts, messages, and product listings.
- Usage and device data, such as pages viewed, actions taken, approximate activity time, and basic log data, used to operate and improve the Service.
- Payment information is collected and processed by our payment processor (Stripe). We do not store full card numbers.
2. Cookies
We use a small number of essential cookies, including a sign-in session cookie and a language-preference cookie. These are necessary to keep you signed in and to remember your settings.
3. How we use information
We use information to provide and secure the Service, process payments, operate AI features you request, communicate with you (including sign-in codes and service messages), prevent abuse, comply with law, and improve the product. We do not sell your personal information.
4. Service providers
We share information with vendors that help us run the Service, only as needed to perform their functions. These include, for example, Stripe (payments), Bunny Stream (video), Supabase (database and storage), Vercel (hosting), email providers (transactional and marketing email), Anthropic (AI text features), and HeyGen (avatar video, for schools that enable it). Each processes data under its own terms.
5. AI features
When you use AI features, the relevant content (such as a lesson transcript or your question) is sent to our AI providers to generate a response. We do not use your private content to train our own models. Provider use is governed by the provider's terms.
6. Data retention and deletion
We keep information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service and meet legal obligations. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data by contacting us; some records may be retained where required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as accounting.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
9. International users
We operate in the United States. If you access the Service from elsewhere, you understand your information may be processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your country.
10. Your choices
You can access and update your account information, opt out of marketing email using the unsubscribe link, and request access to or deletion of your personal data, subject to applicable law. Members of a Lyceum school may also contact that School Owner regarding their data.
11. Changes
We may update this Policy from time to time and will update the date above. Material changes will be noticed where appropriate.
