Lyceum vs Skool
The community you liked on Skool, with a school behind it.
Skool is a community with a classroom attached, and it is very good at that. If your group lives in one feed, the price is low, the app is already on every phone, members earn points for showing up, and the Discovery directory can send you people you did not have to go find. Nothing here beats Skool at being simple.
Lyceum is a school. Every lesson carries a transcript and a tutor that answers only from your material. The back office is real: a member CRM, attendance, a website, and a store, and from Pro your own domain, email sequences, funnels, and logins for your teachers. Members pay through your own Stripe, and on Academy we take none of it. Skool still has two things we do not: an affiliate program and a native app. Both are on the way, and the table says so rather than hiding it.

Still on the way
What is still on the way at Lyceum
Skool has an affiliate program and a native app today. Neither platform lists a visual automations builder.
- A visual when-then automations builder
- An affiliate program
- A branded native mobile app
Today a school works in any phone browser with nothing to install, and we do not publish ads to Meta or Google. We will not list any of this as included until it is real.
Switching from Skool
Asked before people move.
Can I move my Skool group to Lyceum?
Yes. Bring your videos and files, and the Architect rebuilds the course outline from your notes while you upload. Members join through one link, and if you have your member list as a spreadsheet we import it for you. Write to support@joinlyceum.com and a person walks through it with you.
Is Lyceum more expensive than Skool?
It depends on what you sell. Skool Hobby is $9 a month plus 10% of every sale; Lyceum Starter is $49 plus 5%. Past about $800 a month in sales, Starter costs less. Skool Pro is $99 plus 2.9%; Lyceum Pro is $99 plus 2%, so Pro is cheaper at any revenue, and Academy at $249 with 0% costs less than Skool Pro past about $5,200 a month. Stripe's card fee applies on both.
Does Lyceum have the gamification Skool is known for?
Yes. Badges, streaks, points, levels, and a leaderboard are on every plan, and any space or course can be gated behind a membership tier so the top tier means something. What Skool has that we do not is its Discovery directory, which lists your group for people already on Skool. On Lyceum you bring your own audience and keep it.
