DMCA & Copyright Policy

Lyceum (“Lyceum,” “we,” “us”) respects the intellectual property of others and responds to clear notices of alleged copyright infringement under the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (“DMCA”), 17 U.S.C. § 512. This policy explains how to report material you believe infringes your copyright, how a user may respond, and our policy toward repeat infringers. Lyceum hosts software for independent School Owners and does not create or vet their content.
1. Designated Copyright Agent

2. Filing a takedown notice
To be effective, your written notice to the agent above must include substantially all of the following (17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3)):
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed.
- Identification of the material you claim is infringing and information reasonably sufficient to let us locate it (such as the URL).
- Your name, address, telephone number, and email address.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf.
Note: under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), anyone who knowingly materially misrepresents that material is infringing may be liable for damages.
3. What we do with a valid notice
On receipt of a valid notice we will act expeditiously to remove or disable access to the identified material and will make a reasonable effort to notify the affected user.
4. Counter-notice
If you believe your material was removed by mistake or misidentification, you may send our agent a written counter-notice including: your signature; identification of the removed material and its prior location; a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification; and your name, address, and phone number, with consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your district (or, if outside the U.S., the district where Lyceumis located) and to accept service from the person who filed the original notice. We may restore the material in 10–14 business days unless the original complainant notifies us they have filed a court action.
5. Repeat infringers
In appropriate circumstances and at our discretion, we will disable or terminate the accounts of School Owners or users who are repeat infringers.
